Apple's Weather app is down for many users.
The app shows no data when opened for any of the cities we've tried. It's acting the same way for Mashable staff in the UK and Croatia.
The precipitation, temperature, and air quality maps do work, though they are quite slow to load.
Apple's System Status dashboard(opens in a new tab) shows there's an "ongoing" issue with the app, starting from 5am PT on Tuesday.
"Some users are affected," the notice says. "Next-hour precipitation may be unavailable for Alaska due to a data provider outage."
Other Apple services and apps appear to be working normally.
Apple's Weather app was completely overhauled with iOS 16 which was released in Sept. 2022, and is a result of Apple's acquisition of popular weather app Dark Sky. Apple had acquired Dark Sky in 2020, and shut the app down completely on Dec. 31, 2022.
The app – when it does work – includes precise precipitation forecasts, hourly forecasts for the next 10 days, and high-resolution weather maps.
UPDATE: Apr. 4, 2023, 3:38 p.m. CEST The Weather app is now showing some data for us, but a notice on the top of the screen still says "Weather Unavailable."
