Premier League fans in the U.S. have access to every single game this season across various platforms. Whether you're rooting for one of the "Big Six" or holding out hope for an underdog victory, there are a handful of ways to keep up with your favorite teams. The season is well underway, but there's still over a month of matches to go — with the season wrapping up on May 28. Here's everything you need to know to watch.

What's the difference between Premier League and Champions League?

If you're new to soccer fandom, the variety of leagues and clubs can get a bit confusing. To put it simply, the Premier League (aka the EPL) is England's domestic league. It features only English teams playing against one another. The Champions League is more widespread, with 32 of the best teams in Europe playing against one another (including the top finishers in the Premier League). Both leagues have become incredibly popular among American viewers, which is why it's easier than ever to tune into games live in the U.S.

Is Premier League soccer on cable in the U.S.?

Cable subscribers can tune into select live matches from the 2022-2023 season on USA Network and NBC. Check the broadcast schedule(opens in a new tab) to see if the teams you care about will compete live on cable.

Can you watch Premier League soccer without cable?

Tuning into Premier League matches without cable is easier than you think. NBC has got you covered; you can watch all 380 Premier League games across NBC, NBCSports.com, USA Network, and Peacock. NBC took over Premier League broadcasts in the U.S. from Fox back in the 2013-2014 season. The broadcast schedule(opens in a new tab) breaks down which games will be live on which network or streaming service.

If you're looking for the most bang for your buck (i.e. the most games with your subscription), Peacock is your best bet. Not only are select matches streaming live on the app, but it also features on-demand replays the next day for games that air on USA Network and CNBC, highlights, extras, and post-match coverage — all for as low as $4.99 per month(opens in a new tab).

As for the matches that air on USA Network and NBC, non-cable subscribers have a few different options. You can wait to stream the on-demand replays on Peacock or you can watch live via a live TV streaming service like Hulu + Live TV, Sling TV, or DirecTV Stream. These services aren't cheap, but you do get your money's worth with access to live and local channels spanning news, sports, and entertainment. For those looking to stream more than just Premier League soccer, live TV streamers might check all the right boxes. Here are your options.

What's the Premier League Summer Series?

The Summer Series(opens in a new tab) is a first for the Premier League. Starting July 22 in Philadelphia, six Premier League clubs — Aston Villa, Brentford, Brighton & Hove Albion, Chelsea, Fulham, and Newcastle United — are coming to the U.S. to play a nine-match pre-season tournament. After the initial stop in Philadelphia, they'll play in Atlanta, Georgia; Harrison, New Jersey; Orlando, Florida; and Landover, Maryland. And every match will be streamed live on Peacock.

How to watch Premier League for free in the U.S.

Peacock is one of the only streamers that offers a free tier for viewers. Technically, the streamer has recently done away with the free tier for new customers in an effort to gain more subscribers, but it's still available for existing customers. Plus, if you subscribe to Peacock Premium for a month, then cancel your subscription, you'll be downgraded back to the free tier. In other words, although the free tier is "no longer available" on the surface, it's totally still available. Unfortunately, in order to stream Premier League games on Peacock, you'll have to subscribe to the Premium tier (at least for a month or two) — but lucky for you, it still remains one of the most affordable streaming services out there.

All hope is not lost if you're looking for a freebie to tune into Premier League matches. There are a few ways you can subscribe to Peacock Premium for free — or at least at an excellent discount. Listen up.

  • Are you an Xfinity customer? Until June 26, 2023, Peacock Premium is included for free(opens in a new tab) for all Xfinity Flex customers and Xfinity X1 and video customers who have a subscription to Xfinity Internet or Digital Starter TV.

  • Spectrum TV customers can get in on the fun as well with a free year of Peacock Premium(opens in a new tab), while Spectrum Internet customers can secure 90 days for free. This offer is good through December 7, 2023.

  • It may not be free, but if you opt for an annual subscription rather than a monthly subscription, you can save 67% using the code N2TEWDZZ at checkout (at the time of writing). This drops the usual $49.99 subscription fee down to just $19.99(opens in a new tab) (which works out to only $1.67/month).

  • Another option, if the previous code no longer works, is to sign up for a Macy's Star Rewards account(opens in a new tab) (don't worry — it's free) with your email, phone number, and birth date. Once you're signed up, turn on email and text notifications to retrieve a unique code and get a year of Peacock Premium for only $19.99 instead of $49.99. More details on that here.

Other ways to watch Premier League

While more complicated, you could also stream Premier League matches on a service based in the UK, like BT Sport or Sky Sports NOW. In order to do so, you'll have to connect to a VPN server in the UK, then sign up for one of the streamers. A BT Sport Monthly Pass(opens in a new tab) costs about $37.58/month, which includes all of BT Sport and access to Discovery+. While the cost is definitely cheaper than most live streaming options based in the U.S. when you pair that with the cost of a VPN, costs may get a little steep. Sky Sports NOW(opens in a new tab), an online streaming service from Sky Sports, costs about $43.45/month for unlimited access to all 11 Sky Sports channels.

Which VPN is the best for streaming?

Connecting to a VPN can help you stay in the loop and tune into games from anywhere in the world. If you're traveling abroad and looking for a way to stream the Premier League, here are our top picks for a VPN. Be sure to check out the EPL broadcast schedule(opens in a new tab) to find the appropriate streaming outlet for your location.

Proton VPN is the best option if you're a stickler about security.
