TL;DR: Unfortunately, Disney+ no longer offers a seven-day trial for free. But you can still binge-watch Season 3 of The Mandalorian for free if you're a Verizon customer with an eligible unlimited plan(opens in a new tab). Otherwise, plans start at $7.99/month.

Thanks in no part to Disney+'s clumsy launch in 2019, Jon Favreau's The Mandalorian got pirated like crazy within hours of its release. But now it's 2023 and the streamer has battened down the hatches.

Besides nerfherders over on sites like The Pirate Bay hunting down torrents, there was an extremely easy way to watch The Mandalorian and other Disney+ exclusives for free (and legally) in 2019: a seven-day free trial. But alas, the streamer no longer offers that trial period to dip your toes in; you must dive in before you even test the water.

Season 3 of the intergalactic series officially made its debut on March 1, 2023 on Disney+. If you want to catch up with your favorite "clan of two" you'll have to secure a Disney+ subscription. The question is what's the most affordable way to do so now that the seven-day trial no longer exists.

Can you watch The Mandalorian for free?

In a nutshell, yes, you can watch The Mandalorian for free, but you have to be a Verizon customer with an eligible unlimited plan(opens in a new tab).

Already a Verizon customer with a 5G unlimited plan? Great — all you have to do is add Disney+ Premium (no ads) to your account and you can stream The Mandalorian and other Disney+ originals for six months for free. Once the six-month promotional period ends, you'll be charged $10.99/month through your Verizon bill unless you cancel.

Non-Verizon unlimited plan customers looking to take advantage of this deal can switch plans or upgrade(opens in a new tab) to secure their free six months.

Unfortunately, this is the only way to subscribe to Disney+ for free at the time of writing, but we'll certainly be on the lookout for deals.

Other ways to watch The Mandalorian

If you're patient enough to wait on a significant discount on Disney+ to arise before you watch Season 3 of The Mandalorian, well, may the Force be with you. But if you're worried about running into spoilers, you might as well sign up for Disney+'s cheap monthly plan right now — it's such a great value, and with access to hundreds of Disney movies and TV shows, you won't have to twiddle your thumbs while you wait for all of The Mandalorian's episodes to roll in.

Disney+ offers multiple ways to save on its streaming service. You can cut $3 per month off the price by opting for ads and pay $7.99 per month rather than $10.99 per month. Episodes of The Mandalorian drop weekly on Disney+, with the season wrapping on April 19. So you can binge-watch all three seasons within a month and pay just $7.99 to get the most bang for your buck.

If you'd rather chop your own arm off before watching ads, you can save 16% on the Premium ad-free service by committing to a year-long subscription. Rather than paying $10.99/month ($131.88/year), you'll pay $109.99 and slash $21.89 off the cost.
