"The Supreme Court doesn’t get the last word, we do."

Planned Parenthood CEO and president Alexis McGill Johnson joined The Daily Show guest host Leslie Jones on Wednesday to discuss the impact of the Dobbs decision(opens in a new tab) on reproductive rights after the Supreme Court's overturn of Roe v. Wade in June 2022, eliminating the constitutional right to an abortion.

After discussing the healthcare services Planned Parenthood provides (birth control, STI testing, cervical cancer screenings, breast cancer screenings, gender affirming care, and abortions), and the rise of men and people with penises using the organisation's services and the real importance of that, Jones turned the conversation to the bigger fight for reproductive justice in America.

"How do we combat that? With our rights...how we keep these motherfuckers out of pussy?" asked the Daily Show host.

"First of all, we have to be clear that the Supreme Court made a decision, but the Supreme Court doesn't get the last word, we do," said Johnson. "We are going to need to fight state-by-state because they are coming for birth control(opens in a new tab). They are coming for IVF(opens in a new tab). They're literally trying to bankrupt Planned Parenthood in Texas(opens in a new tab). They are trying everything they can to stop people from getting access to care."
