It's hard to imagine Succession without Logan Roy, but the show must go on, even after his sudden death.

With Logan's removal from Succession's playing field of corporate offices and boardrooms, the Roy children and Waystar employees must scramble to find a new CEO. And from the looks of Succession's mid-season trailer, that process is shaping up to be a vicious battle between the children — Kendall (Jeremy Strong), Shiv (Sarah Snook), and Roman (Kieran Culkin) — and the old guard — Gerri (J. Smith-Cameron), Karl (David Rasche), and Frank (Peter Friedman).

Tom (Matthew Macfadyen) has thrown his hat in the ring as well, but as Karl puts it, "You are a clumsy interloper, and no one trusts you."

Believe it or not, the CEO storyline isn't the only major thread Succession has to tie up in the weeks ahead.

There's also the presidential election, where Connor (Alan Ruck) may be picking up a bit of speed considering candidate Jeryd Mencken (Justin Kirk) wants him to drop out. The Waystar-GoJo deal is also up in the air, with tension brewing between the Roys and Lukas Matsson (Alexander Skarsgård).

As Kendall puts it, "Let the games begin."

Succession is now streaming on HBO Max(opens in a new tab), with new episodes airing at 9 p.m. ET Sundays on HBO and HBO Max.
