The new system extends 2,500 meters in length with the addition of an extra vessel

The Ocean Cleanup(opens in a new tab) is developing its third phase in a mission to end the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. The new phase, dubbed System 003, comes after the successful System 002 test and features computational modeling technology to predict garbage hotspots and a 2,500 meter artificial coastline designed to produce circulating currents.
